Versioning

One source of truth for the version string.

The daemon reports its version from installed package metadata:

surfaced at GET /status and GET /stats, and shown in the side-panel footer. A source checkout that was never pip install -e .-ed reports 0.0.0+source.

Bump the version in pyproject.toml only. extension/manifest.json and extension/package.json carry their own version for the Chrome Web Store; keep them in step by hand when you cut a release.
